Your support can make all the difference!

We are always looking for Corporate Business Sponsors, Volunteers and Play Assistants. So, if you would like to help the local Adur Community, get trained in looking after children with Special Educational Needs or just brighten up our local children’s lives, please have a look at the details below.

Corporate Sponsors

We are always looking out for local companies in the Adur area to sponsor our Charity. Companies can give their support in a number of ways, a few of which are listed below:

  • Sponsor a play scheme place for a day, month or year

  • Character sponsor for our annual Shoreham Star Trail Event

  • Enter a team into our quiz nights

  • Collection pots in the office or premises

  • Sacrifice one of your favourite purchases for a month

  • Salary sacrifice

  • Staff volunteering and fundraising schemes

Please note that all of our volunteers are DBS checked.

Volunteers Wanted

Our volunteers support and work alongside our paid staff in all the activities we offer and are a vital part of the team and dynamic of Adur Special Needs Project. The work that they do is very rewarding, often challenging but is always fun.

  • Must be 16 or older

  • Commitment and a sense of humour

  • A desire to support youngsters with special needs

All out volunteers are DBS checked.

Play Assistants

Are you interested in helping our children become the best they can? If so, we would love to hear from you. To be one of our Play Assistants you should have:

  • Must be 16 or older

  • An interest in helping local Adur children with Special Needs and disabilities

  • Interested in being trained to look after our children at the Play Scheme

  • Looking for that extra bit of money each month

  • Motivated and bubbly, with a great sense of fun!

Please note that all of our Play Assistants are DBS checked.

Become a Trustee

We have exciting, but challenging, plans to double the number of children we support between now and 2022; and made even more challenging by the COVID-19 crisis. If you would like to be part of a team that can make a real difference to children and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities, please get in touch.

While we have quite a full board of trustees at the moment, we are always interested in hearing from people who might be interested in joining the team!

  • Must be 16 or older

  • We are keen to talk to anyone that has charity, education/nursery, fundraising and or disability experience.

  • You should be passionate about making a difference to the  lives of the children and their families with special educational needs and disabilities and have about 2 hours a week to dedicate to the role.

  • Suitable candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check before their appointment is confirmed.

The role of Trustee is unpaid and requires applicants to commit to up to 2 hours each week, along with visits to the Play Scheme, which operates on the second and fourth Saturdays during term time.

By becoming a Trustee for Adur Special Needs Project you’ll be joining a friendly, positive team and will gain great experience of sitting on a management committee. You’ll be making a difference to the lives of local children and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities.
